What is a cubic metre?
A cubic metre (m³) is a volume one metre long, one metre wide and one metre deep. Landscape supplies are sold loose by the cubic metre. One cubic metre spread 100mm deep covers about 10 square metres.
How do I work out how much I need?
Multiply length × width × depth, all in metres. A bed 5m long, 2m wide and 0.1m (100mm) deep needs 1 m³. Our calculator on the quote page does this for you.
Is your river stone washed?
No — river stone comes unwashed. Wait for rain or give it a hose after it is laid to bring out the colours.
When can I top dress my lawn?
You can top dress at any time of year. If the grass is tired or needs a strong start, it is the first thing we recommend.
Do your sands meet Australian Standards?
Yes. Our sands meet the Australian Standard for concrete aggregate and concrete products (AS 1141).
Is recycled concrete a good alternative to road base?
For access roads, driveways and paving sub-base, recycled concrete is a cheaper alternative that still compacts to a firm base. Where a compaction standard is specified, use the road base grade named in the spec.
