Hands holding premium garden soil

Quick answer

We supply three bulk garden soils for Brisbane gardens: Veggie Mix Organic Garden Soil for edible gardens, Ultra Premium Veggie Mix for high-yield raised beds, and Premium Garden Soil for general garden beds and planting. Fill beds 200–300mm deep for most plants; one cubic metre fills about 4 square metres at 250mm.

Common questions about garden soil

Which soil is best for a veggie garden?

Use Veggie Mix Organic Garden Soil or Ultra Premium Veggie Mix. Both are blended for edible plants; the Ultra Premium mix is richer and suits raised beds you plant intensively.

How much soil do I need for a raised garden bed?

Multiply length × width × depth in metres. A 2.4m × 1.2m bed filled 0.3m deep needs about 0.86 m³ of soil. Our guide to how much you need has more worked examples.

Can I plant straight into new garden soil?

Yes. Water the soil well once it is in place, let it settle for a day, then plant. Top with 75mm of mulch to hold moisture in the Brisbane heat.
