Choose the tip spot
Pick a flat, firm spot as close to the job as possible, so you are not barrowing further than you need to. A driveway or hardstand is ideal. Put down a tarp first if you want an easy clean-up.
Avoid soft lawns, septic tanks, water and gas lines, and anywhere near pool fences or stormwater pits.
Access and clearance
Trucks need a clear, straight path to the tip spot and plenty of overhead room, because the tray lifts high when tipping. Look out for low branches, powerlines, carports, gutters and gates. Measure gate widths and let us know about steep or narrow driveways when you book.
Which truck?
We run body trucks, twin steer trucks and truck and dog combinations. Smaller trucks suit tight suburban access; larger trucks and truck and dog combinations carry bigger loads for site work. Tell us the product, the quantity and the access, and we will send the right truck. See delivery areas for where we deliver.
Tipping on the street
If there is no room on your property, material may need to go on the footpath or road. Many councils need a permit for this, so check with your local council first.
If it rains
Most products are fine in the rain. Cover soils and sands with a tarp to keep them workable, and spread mulch or soil within a few days so it does not wash into drains.
Common questions
Do I need to be home for delivery?
Not always. If the tip spot is clearly marked and access is clear, we can usually deliver without you there. Let us know when you book.
How much room does a delivery truck need?
A clear, straight path and lots of overhead clearance when the tray lifts. Tell us about narrow gates, steep driveways or low wires when you book so we can send the right truck.
Can material be tipped on the road?
Only if your council allows it. Many councils need a permit for materials on the footpath or road.
